The weather was gorgeous yesterday... and we needed to get out of the house. So a quick day trip to some nearby towns were planned. Peterborough and Keene, New Hampshire were our destinations.
I've never been to downtown Peterborough before, and I've only been to Keene during the evening for their annual Pumpkin Festival. Can I say, what adorable towns? Oh my, both were so cute. Keene was of course bigger. Surprisingly, I think I liked the vibe of Peterborough better. As you can see, all my photos were of Peterborough (I still haven't gotten the hang of wrangling children AND taking photos).
Above, you can see some general town shots, flower photos (both of wild flowers and potted flowers that were on sale in front of a shop), some delicious scones we had for a snack, a few interesting storefronts, a squatting baby (how do babies do that? It just looks so awesome!), and the last photo (the only one from Keene) is of a salvaged boiler door at the restaurant we had lunch in (the restaurant is located in a refurbished mill and the door came from elsewhere on the property when the mill was converted to shop space. Having just read about the Industrial Revolution in our history book, I was particularly interested in it.
It was great to get out of the house and out of the neighborhood... perfect medicine for cabin fever from our long Winter!
