Mere hours after writing this post showing beautiful crocus flowers in my garden that popped up a few days ago - a sure sign of Spring - what do we get?!? Snow!!?!? Really? I'm so ready for Spring to finally be here - and so NOT ready for more snow.
Never one to sit on the lemons thrown at me, I promptly made lemonade! We were able to light one last (hopefully, fingers crossed) farewell fire in our woodburning stove. That was nice. Very nice. I was kinda sad at not having a farewell fire - and my girls and I had written some Spring Equinox intentions on slips of paper that we intended on burning in our last fire before Spring... and have been sitting on since the Equinox. Those were burned yesterday morning once the fire got roaring. My youngest even got an unexpected (read "rare") afternoon nap next to its warmth while the snow was falling and the girls were out of the house at swim lessons.
Here's to hoping that this is the last hurrah for Winter, and I can finally start thinking of planting my garden (though my father-in-law says he doesn't normally plant until end of May, that just seems so late to me).
Oh, and I get to start worrying about May fly season. I've never lived through one of those. I need to figure out where to purchase some of these for my family! If anyone has recommendations, please post in the comments. I want to get some for adults and kids! Just-the-nets or net/hat combos - I'm open to either!
